Prompt Shoot Reflection




Second Assignment:
1. What challenges did you encounter while trying to get the photos of your first 5 prompts?
The subjects were a bit difficult to use because the prompts were abstract and hard to capture. Overall taking the first five prompts went well.
2. What technical aspects of photography or the assignment in general (focus, framing, holding the camera, etc.) did you find yourself thinking about the most? Provide a specific example of what you did to do this correctly. 
While taking the photos I found my self thinking about focus and framing. I believe that these are crucial when taking photographs.  


 3. If you could do the assignment again, what would you do differently now that you know some basic rules of photography? I would carefully take the pictures and really think how to express the photos in the best way. 


 4. What things would you do the same?
I would think about how to make the best out of the pictures.


 5. Finally - post the photos again and tell me what rules of composition (which you just learned about) did you end up actually achieving? Did you have any?

This photo uses simplicity also has circular lines throughout the composition

Maybe the rule of thirds shows up here? "White space | subject  | white space" in composition.


Simplicity because the subject is a very simple one and



This photo uses lines as a central focus, as well as simplicity.


 6. Are you interested in shooting those same prompts again, why?
Yes although I would like to shoot prompts that are a bit more interesting.

Great Black and White Films

Citizen Cane Commentary: Color film was available from the 1930s, but this amazing film was shot in black and white. This film was produced by Orson Welles. Technology was limited in 1941 when this film was shot, but it's hard to imagine the subject being in color. Dramatic exploration of how isolated a man can be. The coldness, darkness, and isolation in the opening scene would not work in color because different emotions are presented in the presents of black and white film. The Seven Samurai Commentary: Made in 1953 and produced by Sojiro Motoki. The themes of good and bad, life and death, are well illustrated by the black and white of this film. You could not present this movie as a color film and still expresses the feelings that are boldly presented in this black and white film.
